YOUNG ONES PORTFOLIO

What is Young Ones Portfolio Competition?  The Young Ones Portfolio Competition is one of two student competitions for the One Show. For over five decades, the One Show has set the global benchmark for creative excellence. Recognized as the world's most prestigious award in advertising, design, and beyond, the coveted One Show Pencil has become a career-defining symbol of achievement.

The One Show is more than an awards program — it's where the global creative community comes together to celebrate bold ideas, powerful storytelling, and innovation that moves culture forward. 

Young Ones Portfolio offers students the chance to showcase their body of work through six (6) projects.  This competition accepts any work created as a student either as a personal project or for your coursework. Explore the Young Ones Portfolio Categories below.

YOP-A01
Portfolio: Advertising
Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) projects created for potential clients that promote their product or service and creatively answer a brief. The big idea behind each campaign should be highlighted.

YOP-A02
Portfolio: Animation & Visual Effects
Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) projects in that display craft in the simulation of movement or imagery either through digital or analog means. This includes the combination of different creative elements like typography, illustration, logos, shapes and video.

Portfolio: Creator Content & Social Media
Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) campaigns conceived and executed in partnership with individual creators and/or brands, where the creator and/or brand's voice, platform, or style is integral to the idea.
NOTE: You do not have to be the key individual creator in all projects. Traditional Social Media campaigns should be entered in "Advertising" or "Film & Video", when appropriate.

Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) projects that showcase skill in the art of filmmaking, including directing, editing, visual effect, sound design, writing, etc.

Portfolio: Graphic Design
Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) projects that utilize layout, typography, and visual identity across print and digital formats to communicate a brand, concept, or idea.

Portfolio: Illustration
Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) projects in digital or analog illustration projects. Motion projects are accepted as part of an illustration portfolio.

Portfolio: Photography
Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) projects that showcase skill in the art of film and digital photography across specialities.

Portfolio: UX/UI & Web Design
Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) digital projects that elevate user interaction through thoughtful interface, structure, and storytelling

YOP-A09
Portfolio: Multidisciplinary
Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) projects showing skill in two or more disciplines

YOP-A10
Portfolio: Other
Final Extension Fee: $75.00

A portfolio of six (6) projects showing skill in one discipline not listed above (including product design, creative tech, strategy, entrepreneurship, etc). Entrants will be asked to identify their Portfolio type during submission. This self reported discipline will be on the trophy for winning work.
